Dr. Kingrey - Vision Surgery Associates in Wichita, Kansas

David A. Kingrey, M.D.

David A. Kingrey, M.D. joined The Ochsner Eye Center in 1998, and founded what is now Vision Surgery Consultants. Dr. Kingrey is a native of Wichita and a graduate of The University of Kansas Medical School. After completing his medical degree, Dr. Kingrey completed a residency in Ophthalmology at Ohio State University.

Dr. Kingrey has extensive experience as an ophthalmologist and ophthalmic microsurgery. Dr. Kingrey has performed over 45,000 cataract and 9,000 Lasik procedures. He is a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society, The American Academy of Ophthalmology, and is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology.

Dr. Boomer - Vision Surgery Associates in Wichita, Kansas

Jeffrey A. Boomer, M.D.

Jeffrey A. Boomer, M.D. is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in corneal transplants, cataract surgery, and laser vision correction. A proud native of Manhattan, KS, Dr. Boomer earned his B.S. in Microbiology from Kansas State University, and his medical degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. He completed his internship in Internal Medicine at the University of Oklahoma Department of Internal Medicine, and served his residency in Ophthalmology at Dean A. McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City.

Dr. Boomer completed a fellowship in Cornea and External Diseases, and Cataract, Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute. In 2006, he joined the well-respected Hunkeler Eye Institute in Kansas City. Vision Surgery Consultants was excited to have Dr. Boomer join the practice in 2011, where he continues to specialize in Cataract, Corneal and Refractive Surgery. He is currently a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Honorary Medical Society, American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, International Society of Refractive Surgery, and Christian Ophthalmology Society. Dr. Boomer also currently serves on the board of the Kansas Eye Bank.

Annah Fowler, M.D.

Annah Fowler, M.D.is an ophthalmologist providing surgical eye care, including cataract and glaucoma surgery.

A former Division I swimmer at the University of Kentucky, Dr. Fowler earned her B.S. in chemical engineering before attending the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine, where she was selected for the NIH Medical Research Scholars Program — one of only 50 students nationwide. She completed her ophthalmology residency at the Dean McGee Eye Institute in Oklahoma City and has published research on glaucoma surgical techniques, care in underserved populations, and advanced retinal imaging.

Outside the clinic, she enjoys Pilates, pickleball, baking, and spending time with her husband, Joel. Dr. Fowler is proud to bring her enthusiasm and a thoughtful, patient-centered approach to the Wichita community.

Brandon S. Kingrey, M.D.

Born and raised in Wichita, Brandon S. Kingrey, M.D., returned home to join Vision Surgery Consultants and practice alongside his father, David A. Kingrey, M.D. He completed his undergraduate education at Brown University and earned his medical degree from The Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. He then completed his ophthalmology residency at OU Health Dean McGee Eye Institute, where he served as co-chief resident.

Dr. Kingrey performs cataract, refractive, glaucoma, and eyelid surgery, including LASIK and other vision correction procedures. His research has focused on cataract surgery and intraocular lenses. He is proud to continue a tradition of caring for patients in Wichita and the surrounding communities.

A former collegiate rower, Dr. Kingrey enjoys running, cycling, and spending time with his family.

Waterfront Surgery Center is a new 12,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility for outpatient surgery. This new surgery center has been designed from the ground up to maximize patient care, safety, and surgical outcomes.

World Wide Missions

Our doctors and staff have given free cataract surgery to blind individuals in India, Panama, Ecuador, Honduras, China and other countries. Each ophthalmologist on our team has participated in mission work, donated free surgery to the blind, and lectured and taught surgery all over the world.
